On Saturday the 8th of April 2017, Trekking4Nepal hosted a Trivia Night for 48 loyal supporters at The Hungry Buddha, Belconnen.
The purpose for the event was raise awareness and funds for Trekking4Nepal’s first public Trekking and Community Rebuild Trip to Nepal due to embark the following Saturday.
The evening commenced at 6:00pm with the first of three rounds of trivia. Each round of trivia was followed by a delicious course of Nepalese cuisine.
To have almost 50 people attend was heart-warming; everyone who attended had a great time and those who had never tried Nepalese food before, said it was surprisingly delicious – many of whom said they would come back with friends.
These comments emphasize the Trekking4Nepal vision, which is to inspire the people of Australia to think more about the people and culture of Nepal in the hope in increase tourist numbers to the country.
Tickets to the event were $60; this covered the cost of the food, venue hire, staffing and a small donation towards the Community Rebuild Project. In total, the night helped raise a substantial $1,595 for Nepal.
The next major event on our Calendar is supporting our much-loved partner, The REACH for Nepal Foundation. On the 31st of August 2017, they are hosting a Gala Dinner at Albert Hall, Commonwealth Avenue, Yarralumla.
Trekking4Nepal is aiming to occupy two tables (20 people) at the event, which starts at 6:00pm. If you are interested in spending the evening with us and supporting Nepal Community Projects, please contact me by using the contact form. The event will be $35 per head.
